Sometimes we just need to remind ourselves that everything is going to be alright. I was having one of the "sometimes" moments on December 23, 2014. I needed a "self-reminder". So, I wrote the following poem as a reminder that I might have fallen but I can get up, and I shall. I've spent the last sixteen months doing just that.
(Prov 24:16 NIV) "For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again,..."
It's time to rise again!
Soon I will join the fallen, who are fallen no more,
And like them I will look to my God to restore.
Like many before me I will show the world my worth,
I will live out my purpose that He gave me at birth.
According to the Bible my gift and my call have no expiration,
So I will continue to raise my voice from nation to nation.
Any difficulty or resistance to the words that I speak,
Will only serve as motivation to continue to strengthen the weak.
I know the right words for a heart that is hardened,
My words for you are that you are forgiven and pardoned.
Let sins of your past no longer be a weight in your life,
Your days ahead will flourish and your joy will be rife.
Don’t linger any longer under hurtful opinions,
Those voices you hear are simply voices from Hades minions.
You are created in the image and likeness of our Savior,
Afford Him and Him alone to influence your behavior.
My past is my past and so is yours,
And the future is bright for the one who endures.
So hang onto to the truth of God that you possess,
Don’t change because of emotional pressure and mental duress.
The promise of heaven and streets of gold,
Makes my hope firm and my confession more bold.
So as I join those who are fallen no more,
I will continue to be a voice for the God I adore.
